Programs at Rky Mtn Nat'l. Park
Ranger led programs such as guided hikes, campfires, "Saturday Night in the Park", and daily slide shows and videos at the Kawuneeche Visitor Center, are offered throughout the summer. In addition, the Rocky Mountain Nature Association teaches weekend courses featuring outdoor field trips complimented by indoor lectures held on the crest of the continent.

June 2-30 

Flying Heels Rodeo
June 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. These Saturday afternoon rodeos offer family fun. The finals on June 30 include entertainment, games, food, and craft booths.

June 9-September 3 

Winter Park Resort Base Attractions
Base area attractions open daily for the summer season, weather permitting. Also open the weekends of September 8 & 9, and September 15 & 16.

June 16-September 3 

Zephyr Express Chairlift Opens
The Zephyr Express transports passengers and mountain bikers to the 10,700 foot summit of Winter Park Mountain for hiking, biking, the new 18-hole disc golf course or lunch at The Lodge at Sunspot. Open daily, weather permitting and weekends through September 30.

June 16-August 11 

Ski Train Excursions
The Winter Park Ski Train departs Denver's downtown Union Station at 8:00 a.m. The return trip leaves Winter Park at 3:30 p.m. A separate car on the train has been fitted to accommodate mountain bikes. Single day round-trip tickets in coach cost $40 for adults and $20 for children 13 and younger. Club Car seats are $65 and include continental breakfast and an afternoon snack.

American Red Cross Fat Tire Classic
Riders can choose from one of three separate routes geared toward different abilities. Registration is $25 per person before April 15, $40 from April 16 through May 31, and $55 after May 31, plus a minimum pledge amount. Participants 18 and under are free with a paying adult. Entry fee includeds five meals, the Saturday Night Celebration and the awards ceremony.

June 23-24 

SolVista Disc Golf Opens
The 3rd annual tournament includes the newly added 18-hole (par72) course on the East Mountain at SolVista Golf & Ski Ranch. Try out one of the best new locations in the state for disc golf with undulating terrain and scenic backcountry. Don't miss the Saturday night activities including a silent disc auction, horseshoe putting contest and barbecue.

Picnic in the park - Summer Concert Series with Line Dancing (Instruction by Ann DeBoe). Bring a Picnic Dinner with you and spread a blanket under the stars. In the event of rain, festivities will be held in the gym at Town Hall. Kick up your heels and learn to line dance!

Backyard Barbecue, Rodeo & Fireworks Festival
Celebrate Independence Weekend! With down-home hospitality, live entertainment, games, food and craft booths and the finals of the rodeo series at Flying Heels Arena. A spectacular fireworks display at dusk tops off the event sponsored by SolVista Golf & Ski Ranch and the Town of Granby.

Music at the Park Concert Series
Part of the Music at the Park Concert Series, this is the second of five free concerts during the summer of 2001. This event features the talents of:
• Brewer & Shipley - This Tarkio Mo duo have been singing together for 30 years. Come hear their hit songs and reminisce "One Toke Over the Line".
• Eidolon - This duo has an ethereal sound. If you enjoyed Colorado super group Wind Machine, come revisit past member Joe Scott's "gitjo" music with Hannah on the cello!

8th Annual Run for Independence
This 5 mile race is a benefit for the Scott Hughes Foundation, a foundation which provides camp scholarships to the Vacation Kidney Center of Snow Mountain Ranch/YMCA of the Rockies. All ages and abilities welcome.

Race #2-Mountain Circuit One. This event requires competitors to ride laps on an approsimately 4.5 mile course and is open to riders of all abilities ages eight and older.
