at Rky Mtn Nat'l. Park
Ranger led programs such as guided hikes, campfires,
"Saturday Night in the Park", and daily slide
shows and videos at the Kawuneeche Visitor Center, are
offered throughout the summer. In addition, the Rocky
Mountain Nature Association teaches weekend courses
featuring outdoor field trips complimented by indoor
lectures held on the crest of the continent.

Express Chairlift Opens
The Zephyr Express transports passengers and mountain
bikers to the 10,700 foot summit of Winter Park Mountain
for hiking, biking, the new 18-hole disc golf course or

permitting and weekends through September 30.

Ski
Train Excursions
The Winter Park Ski Train departs Denver's downtown
Union Station at 8:00 a.m. The return trip leaves Winter
Park at 3:30 p.m. A separate car on the train has been
fitted to accommodate mountain bikes. Single day
round-trip tickets in coach cost $40 for adults and $20
for children 13 and younger. Club Car seats are $65 and
include continental breakfast and an afternoon snack.

Red Cross Fat Tire Classic
Riders can choose from one of three separate routes
geared toward different abilities. Registration is $25
per person before April 15, $40 from April 16 through
May 31, and $55 after May 31, plus a minimum pledge
amount. Participants 18 and under are free with a paying
adult. Entry fee includeds five meals, the Saturday
Night Celebration and the awards ceremony.

Disc Golf Opens
The 3rd annual tournament includes the newly added
18-hole (par72) course on the East Mountain at SolVista
Golf & Ski Ranch. Try out one of the best new
locations in the state for disc golf with undulating

night activities including a silent disc auction,
horseshoe putting contest and barbecue.
